‘Safekeeping’ Original

Created with marker and watercolor on paper! This piece was an exploration on blending my more free flowing style with an actual subject matter… I chose to recreate my castle and dragonflies from ‘The Prize’, as it just celebrated one year since it’s release! This scene reminds me a bit of stained glass, which my great Uncle Walt worked with. My mother gave me a piece of his work that now hangs in my home, and I have hopes of one day learning that art..

With each piece I create, I can feel an evolvement and an amalgamation of not only my styles of art, but of my mother’s, grandmother‘s and uncle’s styles as well.
